Porter Park
Roscoe, Illinois
A 20 hole course that has a wide variety of shot shapes. It moves back and forth from open holes to wooded holes. Many holes run along a creek. U-disc History from course designer Mark Boesen: Porter park was originally built as a nine-hole course in 2008 by Mike Kamm (#19798) of Midwest Disc Golf, who also did several courses in Illinois, including the Kirkland, IL course. [Mark] started working with the Village of Roscoe in 2012 maintaining the course and in 2014 got the rubber pads replaced with cement. 2016 added three new fairways and a practice basket. 2019 added 5a, the first of two holes in the east woods (5b 2012) bringing the course to fourteen holes. In 2022 [Mark was] approached by the Roscoe Village Admin to expand west of McDonald Rd. With help from many volunteers clearing the woods, the course was completed in 2023 and is now currently twenty holes with a wide variety of fairways.
